How do I split expenses with a group?
Add each person, then log who paid for every expense and who it should be split between. The calculator tracks each balance and shows who owes whom.
How does it settle up with the fewest payments?
After totalling each person's balance, it works out the smallest set of transfers that clears every debt, so the group makes as few payments as possible instead of everyone paying everyone.
Do I need an account or app to split bills?
No. It runs in your web browser with no sign-up, download, or login. Open the page and start adding people.
Is my expense data private?
Yes. Everything stays in your browser and nothing is sent to a server. Your group and expenses are saved locally on your own device.
Can I split an expense unequally or leave someone out?
Yes. For each expense you pick exactly who it is split between, so you can exclude anyone who was not part of that cost.
Can I share the split with the group?
Yes. The Copy link button creates a link that encodes the whole split, so anyone you send it to opens the same people, expenses, and balances.
